Charity whisky tasting evening in aid of Darby Rimmer
November 29 @ 7:00 pm
Stephen Darby is a Bradford City legend appearing 239 times in the claret and amber. Shortly after joining Bolton Wanderers for the 2017 – 2018 season he was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease but rather sit around and feel sorry for himself he set to, raising funds to help try and find a cure for others with this debilitating disease.
As part of this fundraising, Stephen joined forces with his friend Chris Rimmer to create the DarbyRimmerMND Foundation and this whisky tasting evening is just one of many events organised to raise funds for the Foundation.
The event will take place in the 2013 Suite at Valley Parade and on the night you will get –
5 whiskies to taste, provided by the leading distributor of malt whisky, Gordon & MacPhail
Complimentary Glencairn whisky glass
A hot supper of haggis, neeps and tatties (mashed swede and potatoes)
Auction of a range of drinks and sporting memorabilia (tbc later)
Raffle for the full collection of the five whiskies in the tasting
A whisky quiz and informative talk by Ben Bowers about the whiskies supplied
The bar will be open for drinks prior to the tasting
The doors open at 7pm with the tastings starting at 8pm
All profits from the evening will be donated to the DarbyRimmerMND Foundation.
Prior to joining Bradford City, Stephen has also represented Liverpool, Swindon Town, Notts County and Rochdale and we’d welcome supporters from these clubs as well as Bolton to join us for this event. Bradford has plenty of hotels available – if you need details please contact the organiser.
If all tickets sell, over £20.00 of your ticket price goes to the charity.
Should you want a vegetarian haggis please let the organiser know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
